Summer Reading has begun! We are so proud to partner with three other area libraries this summer. Jamaica Memorial Library, South Londonderry Free Library, Wilder Memorial Library, and Winhall Memorial Library have combined forces to bring families a comprehensive – and fun! – summer reading program.

Visit any of our libraries to pick up your packet, and visit ALL of our libraries to collect prizes and attend programs all summer long. You do not need to be resident or have a library card to participate! 

Make Your Own Fruit & Veggie Stamps and Notecards

Get ready to paint, stamp, and create with nature’s own shapes! In this hands-on workshop, kids will transform everyday fruits and vegetables into unique printing tools to design their own custom greeting cards or bookmarks.

All materials provided, and as always – this is a free program.

Yoga Adventures & Craft Hour
with Shari

Date: Saturday, August 22
Time: 10:30-11:30
Location: Wilder Memorial Library (24 Lawrence Hill Rd, Weston)

Help your child find calm, strength, and focus in a playful, supportive environment! This 60-minute class blends active physical movement with soothing mindfulness techniques designed specifically for growing bodies and minds. We finish with mindful coloring to ground their peaceful energy.

All materials provided, and as always – this is a free program.

Summertime Story Time
all are welcome, but best for kids ages 0-5
Date: Thursdays, August 20th and 27th
Time: 10:30
Location: Wilder Memorial Library (24 Lawrence Hill Rd, Weston)

Join us as we re-launch story time at the library. We will gather together in the cozy children’s room to read picture books together, wiggle, and play. This is a great place for young children and their grownups to meet new friends!

As we start story time back up again we would love your feedback on days and times that you prefer, and activities you’d like.

End of Summer Drop-In Activity Days
for kids of all ages

Join us at the library for something new: drop-in activities! In these final days before school starts, come grab a snack and settle in to a self-directed activity. We will have materials related to the theme of the day out on tables for you to explore! 

Important note for grownups: While these activities are self-directed, we ask that grownups stay at the library with younger children. If you would like to leave an older child unsupervised, please check in with the librarian first.

Weston Historical Society Museums are Open for the Season Museums are open Saturday and Sunday: The Old Mill from 10 AM to 4 PM The Farrar-Mansur House from 1-4 PM.   The season began July 4 for the Farrar-Mansur House and the Old Mill Museums in Weston, Vermont. Our School Girl Sampler Exhibit will remain again this year as we continue to celebrate our Nation’s 250th Anniversary. Learn more on Facebook: “Weston Historical Society”

Large Prints Books !

How does it work?
ABLE Library will lend a selection of 6 – 8 large print books to our Library at a given time.  We will keep the books for a few weeks — during which time you may borrow them from our Library — and then return the books to ABLE Library and receive a new batch.

Volunteers Needed!

Would you like to volunteer at Wilder Memorial Library?
 

Volunteers are vital to our library and help with a wide variety of tasks and services.  

If you might be interested in helping out at the library, please send an email to the librarians with your contact information and areas of interest.  

The minimum age for volunteering at the library is 13 years old, or at the discretion of the library director.

We want to be able to match volunteers with the things that interest you most, such as:

-checking books in & out for patrons
-reading aloud to children for story time
-keeping the stacks tidy & re-shelving books
-planning summer reading programming
-decorating & setting up for special events and holidays
-baking cookies for special events
-helping with fundraisers
-or a myriad of other fun projects that keep our library humming!
