Large Prints Books are Here!

How does it work?
ABLE Library will lend a selection of 6 – 8 large print books to our Library at a given time.  We will keep the books for a few weeks — during which time you may borrow them from our Library — and then return the books to ABLE Library and receive a new batch.

We are proud to announce that we have joined the ABLE Library system, which means we will have Large Print Books available to borrow.

Do you have a favorite genre or author?
Please let us know, as we may be able to request specific books for you.

Wilder Memorial Library Reopening Policies & Procedures

We continue to be mindful of ongoing health concerns and have
implemented a few requirements
during this phase of our reopening plan:

We ask that anyone entering the library wear a mask.

> We are happy to provide a mask if needed.
> If you’re unable to wear a mask, please call or send us an email to request outdoor pickup.

Hand sanitizer is available.
Our guest computers are not available at this time.
There is no bathroom available.

If you are not comfortable entering the building, please contact us to discuss how we can make library services available to you.
Thank you for your cooperation!

While we realize that many adults have been looking forward to the easing of indoor mask restrictions, we want to do our part to ensure that our youngest and oldest patrons can visit our Library safely this spring and summer. Therefore, masks are required at all times for everyone inside the building.

This policy is subject to change at any time.

Wilder Memorial Library Moves One Step Closer to Goal of Expanding 200-Year-Old Building The Town of Weston and the local non-profit Friends of the Weston Community, Inc. have combined to purchase the so-called Riverside house on the half acre next to the library from John and Christina Coughlin, who offered the property to the library at a price below the Town’s assessed value. Jessica Clapp, the Library Director, said the library recently completed a survey asking Weston residents what a future library should include to better serve the community. The overwhelming response was that the library needs a bathroom, community space, parking and ADA access between the floors of its historic building. “To enable a modest expansion of the library, some parking and a bathroom, we will need a water and septic system, and a few parking spaces. We can’t get this done in our current building, which is on a postage stamp lot without room to expand,” Clapp said. The Friends organization will hold the property and undertake the demolition of the house, installing water and septic and creating a few off-street parking spaces. Once that is done, the property will be turned over to the Town of Weston for the library’s use. “We are grateful to the Coughlins for offering their property to us. Acquiring the Coughlin property will make the library expansion possible,” Clapp said. “Expanding the library will take several years, but now we are on the way.”

Thank you for your support of Wilder Memorial Library.

Why give? Our Library is a remarkable community resource. The Town of Weston’s annual contribution covers only the Library’s core operating expenses. You make our collections, programming, and online, interactive experiences possible.
